Spacesuit

° good resolution NASA logos to print out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA_Logo

° astronaut costume- I’ll take orange or white and maybe even silver!

This was taken at the La Habra Children's museum. Maybe they'll let me borrow the costume? LOL!

I’m also searching for an astronaut costume and accessories, not only for the party, but for Halloween, as well.  I was offered a space helmet from a Freecyle member, after I posted a “Wanted” post to the group.  I’m picking it up in the morning.  I hope it’s a good one!  I can’t complain about free though, huh!?  I’m sure he’ll love it.

I also came across an inexpensive and simple alternative astronaut costume on the Martha Stewart website.  I’ll look into this if the costume doesn’t work out.  Here’s the description:

Space Suits:
To make suits, buy disposable coveralls in the smallest size available. Cut arms and legs to shorten. Roll up excess; use duct tape to hold in place. (Duct tape can also be used to make a belt.) Add details such as shoulder stripes and kids’ names with stickers and colored electrical tape.  I’ll also add American flag stickers, too.

° tie dye shirt – I came across a really cute shirt that I thought I could copy and change to a rocket theme.

Update: Samie is making this for Christian!  Thanks Samie!  I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Exactly this shirt except with a rocket!

And how do I plan on getting a rocket on the shirt, you ask?  I’ve been researching and I’m going to try a method called:

° “Freezer Paper” transfer method (You can also spritz it with bleach instead of using fabric paint. Leave on for 45-60 seconds and rinse well in cold water.)

Wow!!!! I love the shirt idea!! You could also do the iron transfer. Is that lame?

Good luck Sam! I love making tie-dye!!!

I’ve never made tie dye!!

Well, I thought about the iron on transfer, but I like this freezer paper idea because the rocket will be solid and dark. I was afraid that the transfer wouldn’t show up as well. We’ll see!!
